This was my first live TNA experience and it did not disappoint!

The meet and greet started on time with 8 TNA stars: Bobby Roode, Gail Kim, Daniels, Kaz, Magnus, Velvet Sky, Hernandez and Chavo. Unfortunately, you couldn’t get photos with them because of timing issues. Some people were pissed off about that, but I was too busy talking the ears off them to worry about getting a photo! I enjoyed my conversation with Chavo, which we spent mostly talking about Eddie.

Dixie Carter also got involved and interacted with the fans. I got my picture taken with her and she signed my programme. All I can say about her is what a lady. She’s pure class. Dixie did her meet and greet for 3 hours before the show, and then again later in the night.

The National Stadium in Dublin was roughly ¾ full. I use the term stadium loosely because it’s actually a bingo hall, which makes for an incredible atmosphere that you won’t hear anywhere else. Christy Hemme was the ring announcer and did her usual job.

The first match was for the TNA Tag-Team Titles as Chavo Guerrero and Hernadez took on Christopher Daniels and Kazarian. The crowd was fairly loud at the start of the match. Daniels got a huge pop and even got the mic to try to draw some heat from the crowd, but it didn’t work. Chavo and Hernandez won a fairly solid match after Chavo hit a frog splash.

The next match was a Tag-Team Knockouts match as Tara and Gail Kim took on Miss Tessmacher and Velvet Sky. Velvet got a good pop and I had a mark-out moment. The biggest reaction of the night went to Tara’s butt cheeks, which got chanted for the majority of the match. The match ended when Sky got the win with a sit-out Pedigree. It was a lot of fun. I lost my voice after this match as well. Brooke Tessmacher is hotter than hell as well!

Earl Hebner came out and did his usual routine where he reveals the “Damn right I did” t-shirt! At this point, things got crazy! While Earl strutted around like Bret wearing pink shades, a fan jumped the guard rail and lunged for him! He was seconds away from hitting him when security dragged the man out of the arena. The Montreal screwjob obviously still strikes a chord with people.

The third match was Rob van Dam against Zema Ion. RVD got by far the biggest pop of the night. The match took nearly 10 minutes to get started because the crowd was so loud after RVD’s entrance. They played around with Zema’s hairspray a lot to start the match, and that got over big. Van Dam won with the Five Star Frog Splash in an outstanding match.

A triple threat match between Austin Aries, Booby Roode and James Storm was next. Aries drew some good heat, followed by Storm coming out and playing on the Irish drinking stereotype to get a good pop from the crowd. Storm won the match with a super-kick and drank beer with the crowd afterwards. Me and my friend Trevor got soaked when he poured his beer into the crowd at ring side! No beer was sold at the venue, so we were both happy!

Christy Hemme came out and introduced Dixie Carter. She thanked the crowd, only to be interrupted by Magnus. Magnus got some decent heat from the crowd over the whole UK/Ireland rivalry. Bully Ray then came out and asked Dixie Carter to lift his suspension for one night so he could kick Magnus’ ass. Dixie agreed, but only if it was a No-DQ match! There were a lot of ECW chants as well. Bully Ray defeated Magnus after putting him through a table in a short match. After the match, Bully Ray and Dixie brought a young kid into the ring and signed a piece of broken table for him and posed for some photos.

There was a short interval while they put the steel cage up.

The main event was Aces & 8′s (Devon and Luke Gallows) vs Sting and Kurt Angle in a steel cage. The last time Sting was here, he won the WCW Title back in 1993. As Devon, Gallows and Sting were in the ring, Angle made his way out. Angle was attacked by Mike Knox and the door was shut, leaving Sting in a handicap match. Sting and Angle won after Angle got in and made the save. After the match, a masked member of Aces & 8′s came in with a hammer, but Sting was able to retrieve it and use it on the other members! Aces & 8′s teased some friction between them before hugging it out to close the show.

I was a bit shocked that Sting and Angle didn’t stick around after the match and high five the crowd. They just went to the back, which had a lot of people wondering what was going as people ran to  ringside hoping to see them up close. I’d have liked more from Sting and Angle. Overall though, it was a fantastic show and miles better than WWE at the O2 in November. The atmosphere in the small venue makes it all the more special and with the likes of sexy Knockouts, what more do you want?!?!
